Regional Convergences 2008

Learn more about past USFT regional convergences!

Throughout January and February of this year, students and allies across the country attended USFT's regional convergences to learn about Fair Trade, get new ideas for school clubs, participate in skill-building and anti-oppression workshops, and have fun.

Strengthening the Roots

A Mid-Atlantic/Northeast Convergence

Students, friends, and allies from MA, ME, NH, VT, CT, NY, RI, NJ, PA, DC, MD, DE, WV, VA and anyone else who could make it joined us in Washington DC for a weekend of skill building and networking with other regional Fair Trade activists and movement leaders to ensure that the 2007-2008 school year is our strongest one yet! Attendees met and networked with other student leaders throughout the region, learned more about fair trade, and gained organizing skills that are applicable for any leadership position.

A Midwest/Heartland Convergence

Students, friends, and allies from the Midwest and Heartland regions joined us in Indianapolis February 1-3 for an awesome weekend of skill building, networking with other student and movement leaders, and planning regional Fair Trade strategy!

Strengthening the Roots: Food, Justice, and Fair Trade

A West Coast Superconvergence

This past Presidents' Day weekend, United Students for Fair Trade (USFT) joined forces with the California Student Sustainability Coalition (CSSC) to create a super-convergence uniting the food systems and social justice worlds. The event was hosted by the Community Agroecology Network (CAN) at UC Santa Cruz.
