Convergence is SO close!

So I just realized that convergence is less than 3 weeks away! I am super excited and bursting with anticipation for a rad weekend in Seattle.

My first exposure to USFT and bigger understanding of Fair Trade was at the 2007 convergence in Boston. I had the opportunity to meet students, business people, and producers from all over the Fair Trade movement, attend a variety of workshops, and network with my region and set goals and bring organizing tools back to my campus. The Convergence helped me get motivated and allowed me to see how much support I had across the country in my efforts and the movement as a whole.

This year's Convergence is about "Taking it Forward"-- pushing all of us in Fair Trade (and in other movements) to really think about where social justice is going.

Taking it forward for me is about seeing how social justice can move to be less fragmented. I'm actively interested in taking the Fair Trade movement forward and promoting not just critical dialouge but active change as well.

I'm very excited to see where this Convergence will take us all in the movement and what kind of transformations we will make within ourselves, our organizing, and in the world as a whole. See you soon!!!

Lisa!!
